When did I become a Euro-American?

I was an American, then I looked-up and found I'm no longer just an American, I'm a Euro-American.
Were you Afro-Americans and Asian-Americans once plain old Americans?

Answer:
It's to specify your ethnic background, don't worry too much about it.
Ignore the politically correct bs. You are an American. You do not hold dual citizenship do you?
Its just more BS from people with nothing better to do.
I am a native born American a legal citizen
of the United States of America.
I am not going to be called anything but that.
Im a Native american. because i was born in america.
I'm a NATIVE AMERICAN. I was born in America and have been an American citizen for over 60 years. A person born and lived in Greece is a NATIVE GREEK. Can you imagine if we ALL hyphenate our heritage? My co-worker's kid would be a FRENCH-ALGERIAN-ITALIAN-MOROCC... I'd be a FINNISH-ENGLISH-SCOTT-IRISH-AM... Where does the insanity end? I PERSONALLY feel either you're an American or you are not! Old shipmate of mine married a young girl from Japan and when she got her US citizenship she said, "I'M AN AMERICAN!"
(for some reason, the rest of the word for MOROCCAN and GERMAN and SPANISH and FRENCH and AMERICAN were left off, as well as the word AMERICAN on my lineage).
You have to wonder why black people insist on being called "African-Americans" when they weren't born in Africa. My parents were both born in Canada and I was born in the USA, but I have never (and would never) call myself a "Canadian-American"! I'm an American, period.
I don't see why they have to use these retarded politically correct names. Why don't people just say chinese, mexican, black, french and whatever. It's not racist or anything.
Its funny stuff, especially since there are mexican americans and canadian americans, blah blah blah, this just in............... Africa is a continent, not a country...lol
I'm an American. The rest is just name calling. I don't intend to let it bother me.
look, the first part is to signify your RACE, the second is your nationality.

if you want to highlight your race, you can say euro or african, or hispanic, or whatever the crap you want, and then -american.

if you don't care, then don't.
