Why would anyone be a border agent when you are investigated and thrown in jail for doing your job ?
Answer:
Anyone going into Law enforcement knows there is the chance that this could happen to them. In the BP Academy you are told time and time again about apprehending large groups by yourself. A group of 7 is not large and not uncommon. It is unfortunate that that BP Agent had to fire his weapon, but it is fortunate that he was willing to do it. There are a lot of people that don't have what it takes to protect themselves. I am sure that through the investigation he will be cleared if he did everything he was supposed to. The Patrol is not out to get anyone. The same cannot be said for lawyers.
Such is the case in El Paso, Texas.
These two Agents are serving 11 and 12 years for what basically comes down to procedural mistakes. They pursued a drug smuggler when their pursuit policy says not to. The didn't file the report that they had fired their guns, when there was a supervisor at the scene. For this they are now going to serve 11 and 12 years in jail. By the way, the drug smuggler was caught smuggling again while the investigation was ongoing and it was withheld from the jurors during the trial so as not to taint them. He is now suing for $5 million for violation his civil rights. You got to love America.
You said it! I agree with you totally!
Are you saying that border agents were hired to kill people? To use your exact quote you said: "Tell your people to stay home and they won't risk being killed by people who are doing exactly what they were hired to do." Hmmm.
I totally agree because someone doing their job right gets thrown in jail. Someone who is breaking the law gets to slide. That is so unfair the point of laws are to protect and keep the country in order. Not for them to bend them when they want to.
They are being handcuffed by our own government. They are being punished for doing their jobs.I am so ashamed of the way the Justice Department has treated the Border Patrol Agents.
Why do we even bother to have them if they are not allowed to do their jobs, arrest drug smugglers, and apprehend illegal aliens.
The latest incident ,the illegal resisted arrest and attacked an agent. The agent shot him and he died.It could have just as well been the Border agent that was dead. This guy was the only one of 7 people that were arrested for being in this nation illegally that resisted and attacked the agent.I would have protected myself too.I am sick of our law enforcement officers
being chastised for doing the job they were hired to do.PROTECT THIS NATION.
Bush is an incompetent imbecile
And Calderon needs to clean/fix his own house/nation first..
You are correct. Washington treats illegal immigrants better than Border Patrol Agents.
A group of seven people were crossing the desert and the agent took six of them into custody without incident.
So it was seven against one. What is the poor guy supposed to do when one resists and starts to fight? let himself be overpowered by all 7? This was a highly dangerous situation for this agent. LAPD would not have even attempted to apprehend 7 individuals unless they had lots of backup. These guys go out there every day and put their lives on the line and the Mexican president is going to protest!!! Hey Fu** Calderon!!!! Where are your Balls Bush? You should be telling that a**hole to keep his people at home instead of giving them GPS navigation devices so they won't get lost. Tell him the free ride is over!!!!!
I would tell Calderon he has 1 week to put an end to this and 90 days to get his people out of our country, otherwise we will send in the Marines to take over his oil fields to repay the American people for the costs of keeping his people.
Calderon himself is responsible for this death not the poor BP agent.
The Border Patrol Agent was not thrown in jail. Anytime you fired your weapon and killed someone there is an investigation. The goes for Police Officers too!
I agree with you. It boggles the mind that two border patrol agents were punished and a drug dealer was given immunity. That's just not right. Now the border patrol agents are going to be afraid to do their jobs.
As far as the guy who was shot goes, he deserved it. If the criminals would stay where they belong, we wouldn't be having these problems, now would we?
