Can my parents send me back to Canada now that I am 18?
I moved out right on my 18th Bday. My parents do not believe races should mix so therefore they do not approve my boyfriend is black. My fear is. Now that I am 18 and I was only in the US cause they brought me in. Can they choose to no longer sponsor me. I been in the US for 11 years. Thank you in advance.
Answer:
Visit the nearest U.S. State Department office to learn the status and conditions of your stay/citizenship here now that you are an adult.
If you are legally here, and want to stay and seeing as your 18 you can see as two ways. you are stuck here, or you can do as you please. Actually the best thing to do is talk to a Canadian counsel they are usually in the bigger cities. So depends an where you live. Good Luck.
You have been here for 11 years. Surely you can apply for citizenship. Live out your own life.
First of all honey, they can't send you anywhere your legal in the united states. ok? next, to prevent them for throwing you out you need to get you a job where you can support yourself, therefore if they do decide to throw you out you have a backbone to stand on. As far as your boyfriend go explain him the situation, not such in a rude way but a way he'll understand. Tell him that you can't see him where your parents would know...but arrange secret meetings with him. Don't let your parents know that your dating him. Just make a story up that you guys broke up or whatever. But when you make enough money...tell your parents what you have been doing.. i know it sounds complicated but if you love your boyfriend, you would do it right?
They can't send you back you're 18 and an adult.....depending on your immigration status..they could turn you into immigration and you would be deported. You may want to consult an attorney regarding getting naturalized so you can stay...I believe the most determining thing will be if you are an asset or are going to end up
on public support.
As for your parents racial preference....that's their problem...my daughter was dating a blck guy and I will admit....it bothered me...until I met him and he turned out to be better than the white guys she had dated.
Of course she left him for some dumb a s s white guy.
Good luck
