How do you change the status of a L1 Visa?
Answer:
You must go through a multi-step process to become an immigrant. In most cases, USCIS must first approve an immigrant petition for you, usually filed by an employer or relative. Then, an immigrant visa number must be available to you, even if you are already in the United States. After that, if you are already in the United States, you may apply to adjust to permanent resident status.

My understanding is that this visa is good while you work for the company and I do not believe it can be adjusted to permenant status. You may want to check to have it transfered by your company to either an EB1 or EB2 if you have an advanced degree, Or if you have a bachelor's degree or equivelent you can be transfered perhaps to EB-3, but I believe that they have to attempt to find an American citizen alternative before they can put you in such a status. You need to consult with an attorney or immigration at customer service first and see if there are any adjustments you can make but there are none that I am aware of.
