I am from the united states and have been in a long term serious relationship with a guy from england. We visit eachother by plane every three months, but that is not enough. we'd like to start a life together but don't feel right about using marriage to get a visa. We've talked to immigration offices and have gotten as far as we can with their advice. Basically he would like to move here, get a job, and try out the American way of life before making a permanent descision. I have been told that one can stay in the US for 3 months without a visa. He has come for visits and found prospective employers interested in his work, but want him to start 'now'. In the manual labor profession there are seasons and this is the season for hiring. by time paperwork gets sent thru and he's legal to work, they may have found somebody else. so basically...you have to have a visa to get the job.but you have to have a job to get the visa. We are racking our brains and getting nowhere! Any advice?
Answer:
You can apply for a fiancee visa, however I am a little confused as to why you don't want to get married and apply for residency for him if you have been in a long term relationship. If you are afraid of it not working out, residency through marriage is given temporarily if applied for in the first 2 yrs of marriage, then permanently in the 3 year. So if it doesn't work out you can still go your separate ways..
you can get a fiance visa for him to come to the US. i believe it is a temporary 6 month visa for him to come and go back to england as you guys plan your wedding. if you two are not married by 6 months, i believe you can file an extension, otherwise his visa expires and he has to go back. 6 months may be enough time for him to see if he likes it here or if you should move to europe with him. good luck
easy get married he can come here with visa waiver apply for him for green card if he didnt like it here you can move togother back to UK and if you dont like it in UK you can move back to USA good luck,, life about giving it a shot
You and he had better get used to the idea of marriage, because he isn't going to get a residence visa any other way.
the only and best possible way for him to unite with u in the States is by filing for a greencard
or he must find employer who can file for his H1B status
or simply tell him to come to US and wait till US passes a new immigration deal
