Need help with green card?
Answer:
Your going to Egypt and marrying him will not give him the right to enter, let alone to live in the US.
It would be interested to know how long you have had your greencard. If you have had it for 5 years or more, you can apply for citizenship. It might take a while.
As a citizen, you can apply for a K-1 (fiancé visa), which allows him to enter the country and you must get married within the next three months. After that, he can apply for a greencard.
I want you to believe this, because I've seen and heard of several cases... If you marry outside of the country, you will have a LOT of trouble getting him in the country. They do not like when people do that. Believe me, please.
Even if it takes a while and by that I'm talking about 'years', that`s the best thing you can do or you'll end up living in Egypt because most probably he will be never be granted residence and you'll get tired of trying.
I don't want to sound nasty, that is the way things are.
If you can apply for citizenship, start now!! it's my best advice, and then use the K-1 visa to bring your fiancé into the country.
Good luck... you need it
yes you need to be US citizen get him fast,, how long you had your green card
He can't travel with you to the US unless he has a visa to enter the US. Also, if you marry him and you only have a greencard it may take you a while for the papers to be processed because the family of US Citizens are prioritzed the immigration queue.
Try checking the USCIS website and search for "Spouse/fiancee petitions" so you can see all the requirements and steps to petition your fiancee.
