Immigrants must learn how to speak English to live in America. Be a roman when you are in rome.
They should by all means learn English.
Who says I "have to" learn Spanish? I took it as an elective in school, and i loved it. I'm going to take Spanish 2 next. I love it, and I think it's to my benefit to learn another language. It had nothing to do with immigrants, it was my own choice. There are no laws that say someone should have to learn a language to live in the US. It's not an easy language to learn, and if someone is illiterate in their own language, it wouldn't be that easy for them to learn a new language. I imagine your question is coming from a racist point of view. It would be in their best interest to learn the language because they have to deal with close minded people.
To be a player on the world's stage, it is beneficial to speak more than one language. The opportunities to learn languages in school is a privelege...and smart kids will jump at the opportunity! The world is much bigger than the United States - and there is much to learn and see if you venture out of your comfortable little cave...
i think all should learn english to be here my hubby did.......and it is not just mexicans ......... i was told i couldn't work in a chinese restaurant in small town ky .........because i couldn't speak chinese.......... wtf????? ..........oh_hell
If you come to live in America......learn English. I shouldn't HAVE to learn any other language to please 1 particular group of immigrants. What other language I learn should be MY choice. We have people speaking hundreds of different languages and I'm sure they'd all like us to learn their language to make it easier for them. I'm asking immigrants to learn 1 new language if they want to be here. Immigrants would be expecting citizens to learn hundreds. Sorry....learn English. It's the LEAST you can do.
Being that it aggravates white Americans. I am for the aggravation of white Americans. They should be required to learn spanish at least for a good appearance.
im ok with having to learn spanish in america. i mean, why not? it's one of the most easiest languages to learn, you get to learn about spanish culture, and you also get school credits.
