My wife and I plan to move back to the US. We were married in the states and currently live in china. We think we have our bases covered with the exception of extensive concrete evidence that we're really married(which we are, no one's a terrorist and it's not a scam). We have weddign pictures from our marriage in the US and our returnting ceremony to China, a US Marriage Cert, our son's Consular report of birth abroad from the embassy, our son's chinese birth cert, as well as many logged emails and conversations from when we started talking online. What we don't have is any kind of monetary evidence like a shared bank account, real estate, or a major purchase like a car. Put simply we were young, stupid, poor and in love for the last year. My question is, would lack of these things like bank accounts and property together cause a snafu to arise in our application process? Thanks for listening to the rant, responses are much appreciated.

You're returning to the US, you have a state marriage certificate from a US state, signed by someone whom is likely still working for the state. You probably can obtain copies of the announcements that appeared in the local papers...

Assuming neither you nor the wife are US citizens...the fact that you were able to live in the US with little or no problems... Add to that the fact that you are (presumably) employable, and can speak English (which I assume you can, since your letter is quite eloquent, even if I don't necessarily understand all of it. ;)... Those are points in your favour.
