Mosquito's does actually prefer fair skin people though, particaularly Swedes.
Their not smart, just hardwire to react a certain way.
They're not smart, they're just following their instincts. They want blood, you ahve exposed skin... and voila! You get bitten. I've had the bottom-of-the-foot bite too, by the way... That was the itchiest bite I've ever gotten!
So here's some ways to NOT get bitten...
Cover yourself up. If they can't get to your skin, they can't bite it.
Use Avon's Skin-So-Soft. Mosquitos hate it!
Don't use perfume/cologne/hairspray/etc. It attracts bugs.
A firefighter in a swampy area told me this one- take garlic pills. It gets into your system and mosquitos will stop biting.
Mosquitos are more likely to bite people with less hair, so guys... before camping, stop manscaping. Leave your chest hair in place if you usually way/shave.

I don't think they are smart, just single minded. They have one thing in mind, breed and make more mosquitos. They know by instinct that they have to get blood to keep their larva alive, so they do anything they can to find the blood.

Funny that you should put mosquitoes, swarming nuisances, in the same question with illegal immigrants, also an annoying swarm. both are blood suckers one literally and one figuratively. I do agree that the average mosquito is much more intelligent than your average illegal. I wish there were more similarities like when a mosquito breeds it DIES.
By the way, why would I have to relate to illegals? they came to my home and the onus is on them to relate to me and assimilate, not the other way around.
