Yes. I closed my Bank of America credit card and transferred my balance to another card. Then I wrote bank of America a letter and told them that until they stop pandering to illegal aliens they will not get any of my business.

No i will keep things as they are. people forget that alot of our goods, products are made by illegals and alot of companies employ illegals too, so are we also going to boycott buying tomatoes, strawberries, tupperware and the like!!! Boycott will not help one bit. BOA is a huge fincancial institution across the USA, removing a few of your dollars won't hurt them .

Yes. I closed out my account with them because of this issue. Don't forget Wells Fargo Banks. They do it, too!
1) You need a VALID PHOTO ID to open a checking account with any bank. This means that if you don't have a checking account with B of A, you can't get a secured credit card because you don't have solid deposit history.
2) The WSJ article stated simply that B of A is marketing this pilot plan in the Los Angeles area, where there is a large pocket of illegal immigrants who have methods of taking part in illicit activities, ie stealing SSN's and credit files. Nowhere in that was there anything about directly targeting illegals.
3) If you cut up your card and mail it in with a letter, more than likely no one gives a damn. The machines that open letters mailed in sort them into buckets scanned by other machines. There is no one there who sees what you so passionately wrote in. GET A LIFE!
4) Don't call your credit card company and say: I DON'T AGREE WITH THIS BLAH BLAH BLAH...more than likely, the customer service person is tied to a goal and you have just wasted his/her time and incentive by calling about your petty feelings.
5) If you think that a class action lawsuit filed by you, and by the way the customer service person you call doesn't give a damn about how much money you have, more than likely your sorry *** will have no impact on the company.
6) People who know nothing about banking and credit cards should mind their own business. If B of A decided to no longer offer credit cards to people without common sense, there would not be many account holders left.

If I had an account it would now be closed. They claim that their policy isn't targeting illegal alien criminals - it is. BofA is blaming the media and talk radio for their bad press. I don't think so!

I am a BOA customer and have been for 10 years. About 10 years ago we had to claim bankruptcy due to unforeseen changes in our income. BOA was not involved. After the dreaded decision we made, our credit has become perfect. And the process started directly after the bankruptcy discharge by making purchases with cash (except cars) and only having 2 small credit cards to build our credit back up.
Three years ago ( 7 yrs past bankruptcy) we applied for a credit card through BOA and were declined. Now keep in mind BOA had approved us for a Mortgage loan 1 year before that. So now they have me as a mortgage customer, and a banking customer but will not deal with me on a credit card level because of the bankruptcy. I wanted to have one credit card through them and drop the others (transfer the small balances). Talk about a slap in the face. I am not good enough for their credit card but people who have no credit report showing their worthiness are.
But I suppose the lack of SS identification is no different than BOA or any bank signing up identity thieves who have fake DL and SS numbers. Honesty is there or not in all races. Either way, they win and we loose. If I change banks it will be because of BOA’s dual qualifying standards.
