Does baby get US citizenship, when mother delivers in US on visitor visa? What is the cost of delivery in US?
Answer:
Congratulations! Your baby get US citizenship if you deliver in this country. It doesn't matter if you have a visitor visa or not. Mexican does this all the time except with not visa. Anyways the cost depends on the procedure and hospital. If you get a Csection, you may pay around $30s thousand. If you have a normal birth, it should be a higher than 20s and probably less than 30,000. You might chose a public hospital were you might be not well treated even though we have the best doctors. If you choose a public hospital you don't have to worry about the money because we/americans tax payers will pay for it. Tikitiki is right about that comment. It will be ideal that you should bring at least $30,000 just for delivery. Get some extra $$ for doctor visits before and after delivery and of course for a pediatrist too.
Since you had said that your due date is Sep '07...I think that your visa will be denied. Your pregnancy is evident. Most of the time, Airlines have no doctors aboard therefore they do not allow pregnant women on an airplane. They are not prepare for such thing. You might be better off having your baby in Singapore because of cost involve and health treatment that is require for the nine months of pregnancy. Good luck with whaterver you decide to do.
to deliver here would cost 20 to 30 thousand dollars. it would be cheaper to deliver where your at.
Yes, they're called anchor babies. The Mexicans do it all the time-only difference they don't come in on a visa, they do it illegally.
Don't worry about the cost, the citizens of the USA will pick up the tab via their tax dollars..
tiki has it correct... and it depends on where you live to how much it will cost... loretta is pretty close to the cost without insurance
No wonder u.s immigration only grant worker visa for india only.
Yes, your baby will get citizenship. The cost is high, but it depends on the city and if you have insurance. If you don't have insurance, then it will cost you a lot.My sister just had her baby in Florida, she was insured and still had to pay $10,000, with insurance. You need to call and find out the cost, before you get a medical bill and get the shock of your life.
What your talking about is a trend described as "anchor babies". A child born here has U.S. citizenship status, but not the parents. It's a tradegy to know that if you deliver a baby on American soil at the taxpayer's expense that you will be entangled in the immigration quagmire. I fully respect your intent on having your child delivered by the world's greatest doctor's, but I have issues with your choice to take advantage of a system that works on your behalf with minimal consequences.
You have received some great information here. As I understand it, the cost of delivery depends on where you are and any complications which might occur during delivery.
As I understand it, in the US, any person (regardless of citizenship) who can not afford medical care must be given medical care at any US hospital (which is why it costs 20-30,000 for the rest of us - too many people getting their health care for free).
A child born in the US is considered a "natural born citizen" - a constitutional requirement to become President of the United States.
If your baby is delivered in the US, he/she will receive the US citizenship. However, if you are pregnant over "certain number of weeks" (number not disclosed here), you will not be allowed to enter the US.
If your due-day is Sept 07, you probably won't be allowed to enter the US.
Anybody born in the U.S. is automatically a United States Citizen with the exception of children from diplomats working as a diplomat in the U.S.
The cost of giving birth is about 10,000 U.S. Dollars, but the price may vary from hospital to hospital. If you have any complications it could cost you more.
If you intention to come into the U.S. is just to give birth and you can not prove that you have money to pay for the delivery of your baby you can be denied entry into the U.S. and/or have your visa canceled at the port of entry.
The US Constitution, the great document that it is, guarantees US citizenship to all persons who are born within it's borders. If you are truly looking out for the best interests of your new child, you would legally arrive in the US (with the visitor visa) and allow him or her to be granted this wonderful benefit. It will be beneficial for your child to be able to enjoy the benefits of both US and Indian citizenship without some of the hassles you have likely had traveling from one country to another.
US health care is relatively expensive, but you may want to consider less expensive options than giving birth in a hospital. The use of the services of a midwife may be less expensive, if you are not expecting a complicated pregnancy. If something goes wrong, the hospital can still be an option. But this will require some planning.
Good luck to you!
Textbook delivery will run about $4000, including epidural and minimal hospital stay. Any problems, and that can skyrocket. A c-section will probably run $20 to $30 grand, and premature birth can go well over $100,000.
Jusoli is the word describing natural citizenship in the country of one's birth. It applies to the US, and might make it only slightly easier for you to obtain US citizenship. I have heard of mothers being deported while their children are left behind--though immigration officials make some effort to avoid that.
Any person born on United States soil is an automatic citizen, according to the Constitution of the United States of America. I am against illegal immigration, but if an illegal has a baby on US soil, then it is a citizen. If we only let certain groups do this, then we will open up a lot of bad stuff.
Does baby get US citizenship. Not according to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. So I don't know why people keep telling others the baby is granted automatic citizenship. Especially when they are speaking of The English Common Law (Jus Solis), instead of the U.S. Natural Law, and National Law. The U.S. did not except English Common Law. Thereby throwing it out when the fore-fathers wrote the new laws of the New Americas.
So your baby would be the same as you. Indian Citizenship - with Singapore Permanent Residency.
Anchor Babies, and the 14th Amendment in the U.S. Constitution.

Added - Give me all the thumbs down you want... It still doesn't change the facts into yours or others fantasy!!
Your baby will be a citizen but you won't be..
I'm a little concerned on how you will get to the US. I don't think you will be allowed in the country unless you have sufficient funds, a return ticket, and most importantly the stress of flying overseas so close to the birth of a child can induce an early pregnancy (you really don't want to have your child born in the air when there probably aren't any doctors or midwives on the plane).
