Should Venezuelans start emigrating to USA? Maybe ask asylum?
Answer:
There are already many here. In response to the people who say that the people of Venezuela elected Chavez elected him, so now they have to pay the price. The people who voted against him are the ones paying the price. His electoral base is predominately poor. The middle and upper class is being increasingly taxed and pressured by Chavez's financial policies. He's even going so far as to tax savings. In the end, if he drives those people out, it's Venezuela's loss. Most of the Venezuelans I know are doing well and contributing to their new American community.
you're late.
No, because I say we don't let them in. They voted this thug in, let them suffer. I'm tired of cleaning up Latinos' messes.
I laughed when I read that but then thought of Bush and figured he might well consider someone running from Chavez to be an 'enemy of his enemy' and stopped laughing.
Unfortunately, we have an immigration problem. That aside, if someone truly needs 'asylum' we need to look at that - on a case by case basis.
Chavez moves towards communism or socialism and so you think there will be chaos? Who told you there's trouble in Venezuela?
They're already comming.....
No, b/c they elected him so they r gonna suffer the consequences...
Are you blind or deaf? Venezuelans are already here for thousands, just come to Houston and Texas and see it for yourself. Venezuelans are to Houston as Cubans are for Miami. What calls my attention is that everybody here say "the Mexicans" and they are wrong, Venezuelans are for thousands in Texas.
