Does anybody think are country would have been better off if we had listened to what Enoch Powell had said?
Answer:
Yes - but at the time he was denigrated and despised for his views. People were horrified.
Of course your country would have been better off.
No, it would had been worse.
I assume that you are refering to the Rivers of Blood Speech. Most people who refer to the fact that he was right do not actually know the contents of the speech.
While Powell did refer to the UK immigration policy this was not the main point of the speech. The main point of the speech was to oppose the UK anti-discrimination laws which were to being debated at the time.
While I do not agree with his immigration policy I can see why some people may. However in answer to your question - No we would not be better off if we had listened to Enoch Powell.
If we had listened to him then we would have no racial discrimination laws. I believe that only an ignorant person would consider that this could be right.
i think the country would be a lot better off because if they all listened to him from day 1, then all the borders and passport control would be a lot tighter and immigration would be virtually impossible, then maybe, just maybe the need for job centres would not be needed and every brit would have a job to go to instead of foreign workers taking our jobs and making the british folks unemployed.
A resounding YES!!! I have to be careful of adding to that,
You know why!
Yes that is why my dad moved us to Australia and I thank my lucky stars he did.
Too late my friend. look ahead to the future.
absolutley get them all sent back
I think he had a valid point. He was the MP for Wolverhampton, an area with a large Asian population, also a fluent Urdu speaker and much respected by his Asian constituents.
An ideal situation would be one world with one people. The question is how to get there from where we are now. The human Psyche changes slowly and try to force it too fast by criminalising people is counterproductive, as the popular backlash in this country now demonstrates
He was arguing against the Racial Discrimation laws being debated - not against immigration.
So I don't think the country would be better off, as if we had listened to him, we might not have laws against discrimiation on race.
Read my source below for more information.
Severe gun crime by extremist members of one racial minority, the underground bombed by extremist members of another, People wanting to teach British children while wearing a black mask (sorry I don’t know the name of the mask used and sorry again I am not able to mention the minorities who are using guns and bombing Britain).Of course they are not all like this but multiculturalism was an undemocratic disgrace and most real British now realise--- Enoch was right.
too late too late will be the cry when the ruling governments let us fry.
No.The man was a 24-carat wassock.
If all non-whites left the UK our NHS, Public Transport, Tourism and much more of our economy would collapse.
Maybe that is what he wanted!
yes, they should have listened! Here in Sopain, which is part of the EU....last week 42 people were arrested and detained while the police ascertained their identity, this is a common occurrance and the Kk should take note and do the same, if you haven't got the right papers, you're nicked and kicked out, its not being racist, its being sensible, the taxes people pay are to support their own government and their own nation, not scroungers from other place who think they can get everything for nothing!
No he was a True Blue Tory. The employers friend and had his wishes been followed the vast majority of the population would be in poverty as in the the early 1800's.
YES
A BRITAIN FOR THE BRITISH
To a point yes it would have, however, there again where would we have got the extra workers from that have contributed a lot to this country?
However, at this moment in time, we do need to put a hold on Immagration for any means. How many more people can we allow to come into the country? How much more will our straining sytems take?
I would say not a lot.
Maybe, But once again the government are doing some major back pedalling trying to clean up the mess from their attempts to promote multi-culturalism. Youve ended up with the uk full of ghettos. They wanted multi-culturalism and intergration, but which is it to be, there two b****y seperate things. Were now paying the price for all the years of political correctness.
I am not prejudiced against people as far as their colour or religion is concerned but I do object to those who have come to Britain and live on the state. Stop supporting them and see how quickly they will leave. The Brits don't get half the support and in my case NONE. I have worked since I was 17 and now that I am approaching 56 I can't get a job and no support. I often wonder what one british person has to do to survive. Therefore Enoch Powell was right but not for the right reasons. I wish he was still around now. I am not English but British and I agreed with him. Send the users and abusers back where they came from
Definitely YES!we need another Enoch Powell because people are fed up to the back teeth with immigrants coming here and scrounging of the state from the minute they arrive.
