Processting time for UK Spouse Visa?
Also if I could come to UK as a tourist and apply for visa over there without getting kicked out?
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Answer:
Hi, If you are marrying a UK citizen in the USA, the process is very simple. Go to the British embassy and post your marriage ban's. After the required period,(usually Ten days) you will be given a legal document stating that your forthcoming marriage has been recognised by the British Government. Get Married and take your marriage documents back to the embassy along with your visa application. There should not be a problem in you obtaining a six month visa for the UK. Once you are here, after Five months you should apply for indefinite leave to remain on the grounds that your spouse is a UK citizen. I think you will find that they will accommodate you, I have done exactly the same thing with my wife who is Ethiopian and we had no problems at all. The key is posting your wedding bans at the British embassy. Good Luck!
if you get married in the us it's much harder to get a spousal visa for the uk but if you marry in the uk and want to reside here its half the time. Usually around 10 months. don't make the mistake of coming here as a tourist and applying for a visa then, they will kick you out!
