The loop-hole needs to be closed or greater clarification needs to be added because this Ammendment was not written for the purpose of "anchor" babies. Sometimes it is extreemly difficult to know how the world will change and how things will be misused when you write something into law.
I do beleive with every ounce of my being that there are ones who do plan to make sure they give birth as soon as they cross the border. There have been reports of people planning their vacation in order to have their children here, for the purpose of American citizenship, even when they take their baby and go back home. Not insurance for themselves, but insurance for their child in the future incase they want to come here and go to school etc. when they are adults. Or a legal chance to flee their country if something should go wrong in the future. No one has abused it like the Mexicans though. It needs to be fixed......this was not what it was intended for. One parent should be a citizen before a child is allowed to become a citizen.

I don't think the amendment is the problem and it's very likely it'll be changed even if it is. It's the interpretation of the amendment. This amendment was written exclusively so that the children of slaves would be considered citizens.
However, the founding fathers were very clear that children of foreigners who are born in America are not Americans. It's the misinterpretation that is causing problems.
Historically, you're correct. The illegals are bad, but their children are worse. This is true across the board of any illegal immigrants anywhere. The children tend to commit more criminal acts and tend to do worse in school (or drop out) and tend to reproduce at a younger age.
