Why is the DREAM Act logical?
OK, I know I am going to get slammed by the xenophobes on here but... I am a citizen who thinks the DREAM Act is perfectly logical. I actually live in Los Angeles, and know many undocumented students. Get this... in almost all cases THEY DID NOT CHOOSE TO COME TO THE UNITED STATES because they were to young. They grew up here, learned English, forged lasting connections to the United States, know little of their country of origin and became practically Americans. Why should we punish the children for the crimes of their parents?
Now those children, after they graduate from high school, want to go to college and/or join the military. In almost all cases, their loyalty should not be questioned. Believe me. They grew up here and do love this country, despite the many reasons to disagree with its domestic and foreign policies.
To me, that is logical.
Answer:
OK, so why do my tax dollars have to go pay for their education, healthcare and food stamps?? I am married with no children and we pay taxes just like we are still single. And what happens to their illegal parents as they grow older and probably don't have much savings to live off? Put them on taxpayers' burden again?
Immigration laws in this country is whacked They allow every scum of the Earth to come here and take advantage. Hospitals in NYC are nearly bankrupted because of the burden of taking care of illegals who have no insurance or the money to pay for their services. Schools are overcrowded, is this all fair to the citizens of this country. Is this fair to the immigrants who wait 10 - 15 years through proper channels to come to this country.
Think about this first you side with your anchor baby friends.
Why do the parents punish their children through their own ignorance, is it our job to set it right? Illegals are like liars, they only compound their lies by not admitting to it. On and on it goes, time to face the facts, illegal aliens and their offspring will be deported. It's happening more and more. Bye bye
It doesn't take a xenophobe to say that people too poor to pay the $10,000 per year per child it costs to educate a child K-12 in California have already taken quite enough education funds from our children and should not be able to obtain in state tuition or government funding when there is not enough to go around for all American children.
In addition, with Mexico refusing to pay for universal education for its poor, that is a huge reason they come here illegally. I think we need to cut off K-12 education, and certainly shouldn't add to the magnet.
They are ruining our children's schools with their sheer numbers.
since your in support of supporting anyone that got here illegal even if they been here years, then why not adopt them, and use your own money to support them.
