Immigrating to France - What jobs are most in demand?

I'm seriously thinking about immigrating to another country (from the US) in the future, and France is one of many options that I am currently considering. My question is - What high-skill jobs are in demand right now?

Answer:
Well I've heard that French people are a bit racist.. as you are American they may not like you (they don't like muslims either.. have you ever seen a muslim working in a bank there?).

Just do what jobs (that are legal) that you like, or are good at. Make sure you get the degree/diploma/etc to back it up (French are fussy on paperwork but less so with the non-French). I think you'll find that if you do what you like and are passionate enough about what you do, you'll suceed and be high in demand.

Having said that.. stay away from webdesigners.. they're too many of them wherever you go.

ConnexionEnCours: I've been to France a few times and I've never seen muslims working the front line. Guess that was awhile back though. About 5 years or so. And my friend (who is American) got kicked out of a cafe (with her English boyfriend) for speaking English (this was in Paris about 2 years ago). IT is way too competitive in whichever country you're in. Unless you've got major experience and a degree most countries don't want to hear from you.

PS Not going to bother listing the countries I've lived in.
OMG... there is so much unrest there right now...bad choice. they've taken in all these muslims and can't even handle them. funny...there you have to give an employee all these benefits/special treatment in order to fire them. not smart. if someone doesn't work well...can 'em immiediately.

wouldn't you rather go to GERMANY OR SWEDEN OR AUSTRALIA
Good God, why would you want to move to that hellhole? Move instead to Australia or New Zealand.
Acyla => "have you ever seen a muslim working in a bank there?"
The answer is yes. You can even find a Muslim Minister :

Or some TV speakers :
- a black one : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/harry_rosel...

- an other one : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/audrey_pulv...

- and some others

In my office, some of my managers are Blacks, Indians or Muslims. A lot of foreigners are working in Paris.

It is a bit difficult to talk about a country when you don't know it. I stayed in 3 differents countries, I saw how the perception of foreigns countries and cultures can be wrong.

" What jobs are most in demand?"
=> For exemple, IT, medical field, high tech, insurence, service industry...

Acyla => You went to France few times, but it is not enough to know and to understand this country (or an other one). To travel like a tourist is not really efficient to understand a culture.
I don't prentend to know UK because I've been few times. What you didn't see, I saw it everydays.
About the incident in the cafe, the stupidity is not a french privilege. For exemple, I saw in UK a panel like that : "Dog and French are not allowed in this shop" (or something like that). Great, isn't it? My gf is Malaysian, she is in France since few months qnd she doesn't follow your point of view.
Last but not least, since yesterday, there is an former Algerian Kabyle and a Black in the Gov :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/fadela_amar...
A Deputy :

A former Minister :

The Minister of Justice Rachida Dati :

So, now you can't say "I've never seen..."
