I know that there are 2 different student visas. Also how do I know which school they can go to? Do all schools accept students visas? I have looked on some websites trying to find the information & still can't find out what I need to know.

As far as I know, there is only 1 type of visa available for someone who wants to attend school - F1. There is an F2 visa, but this is for the spouse and children of persons in the US on an F1 student visa.
The only way to get a student visa is to be "sponsored" by the school itself, and not all schools will 'sponsor' international students. Your friend will need to ask the admissions officer of the school whether it provides visa documentation for international students.
Come to AMERICA and stay out of MEXICO this is freedom.
