Low wages, and for those of you who have a dream that if illegals are deported, those jobs will be given to Americans for higher wages, let me tell you this: WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! If illegals get out those jobs are getting exported, either way "Americans" are not getting them. It's not convenient for companies to pay such high wages, so they have to either export or hire someone working for cheap. So would you rather have some of the money stay within U.S. borders or have it all sent out to some other country? Your pick.
I recognize it's wrong but it's the way economics work. Money talks.

Depends on the American. I know people who get paid a lot of money and still won't do their job and love delegating their responsibilities to other people. It's all about self pride and work ethics. You either have it or you don't.
Most are minimum wage or just above. Funny you ask this question because just a few hours ago i was discussing this very thing with my brother. He works at scrap yard using a cutting torch. He comes home blacker than black on most days. I wouldn't do it. Funny thing is that he's been doing this for about 5 years and in that time there has been no illegals or any minorities of any race employed at this company. The only people they can get to do the job are white guys just trying to get by.
cutting onion in stockton, CA you get pay 5cent per onion. so if you cut like 100 a day you'll get 5 bucks ^_^
The jobs Americans won't do are a myth propagated by the Mexican population and their supporters. It is not a matter of pay, it is a matter of the company not having to pay, whats the illegal going to do? Its a matter of not having to pay SSI or unemployment or cover them medically. Citizens are required by law to follow the laws while the illegal criminals have already broken laws simply by being here and have no fear of them.
And Siervocal, how did we get along before the criminal hoard you affiliate yourself with invaded?

well my friend who has a landscaping business pays his guys anywhere from 10-12 dollars an hour.
Other competing business owners hire illegals and pay them maybe 6 or 7 an hour under the table and then underbid my friend on a job.
But , as I have said before on this subject, the illegals typically do a crappy job and eventually the customers come back to my friend usually. But he struggles to make it because of this.
Either way its a decent job, not a minimum wage job , even with what the illegals get paid. And there are many more types of trade jobs like this with the same types of things going on.
Ahh hu, trick question. There are no jobs Americans won't do, just jobs that Americans can't afford to do because there are illegal aliens lowering their standard of living willing to do them well below a living wage. Americans don't like to pee in the streets and sleep on dirt floors, but they better learn to do it because the illegal aliens do it, and soon everyone will pee in the street and sleep on dirt floors, because nobody will be willing to pay a living wage because they have people that will do it for slave wages.

some of the unskilled are taken advantage of .but around San Antonio and Dallas Tx. construction labor starts around 7 and goes as high as 15 per hour.
With my business I offer 18 per hour and I can not find any one who is willing to work for that amount. oh you get a lot who want a payday but they are unproductive.
This what most folks do not understand. in order for any business to offer a high wage the employee must produce more income than what he is being paid .so in order for me to break even a 18 dollar per hour person must generate a minimum of 34 dollars per hour in order for me to break even just on their labor.
now for me to make a profit on labor tools equipment taxes maintenance this person must generate a minimum of 47 dollars per hour. now at this rate I have just broke even and if I can not make a decent profit I must do one of two things fire the unproductive employee or go out of business.
I have no choice in the cost of doing business. And folks want to know why the American employer is using illegal aliens.
so give this some thought the next time you go to work for some one and just play around on the job. then you are upset he hires a illegal .
Please read what Siervocal posted because it's exactly right. These jobs wouldn't exist without undocumented workers. That is to say, they wouldn't exist in the United States. If businesses can't bring cheap labor to work here, they'll set up shop in another country with a low standard of living and outsource their labor there before they hire any Americans, even if they only paid them minimum wage. It's way more cost-effective.
Undocumented workers aren't stealing your jobs. If you want to point the finger at anyone, it should be large corporations that are working to cheat people out of the (still meager) wages that workers had to fight for in this country.
It depends on what type job your talking about. One things certain, in many cases, they pay better than what the teenagers and young men and women are getting paid to work fast food, because they can't get work doing anything else, beings those jobs are taken by illegal immigrants from many countries.
Some say min. wage.. I say that's BS.. I have NEVER seen an illegal working for min. wage or scrubbing toilets, etc. The only job i have seen them do are construction, etc.. which woud pay US citizens $30 an hour or more.. then the illegals make 9-10 an hour...and now that min. wage is going up, they will expect a raise also (and will probably get it..they get anything else). I , 4 one would love to see photos of illegals cleaning toilets or working fast food...There may be a few but it's less than 1%...

what people don't realize is, is that if a company does not want to deal with immigration, and want to pay immigrant dirt cheap wages without benefits, they just move it overseas. i think that if your company does business with the U.S,and you are based in the U.S, you have to pay them a minimum wage, no matter where they are located. if that was the case, there would not be as much incentive to move the operation overseas.
Chili pickers make 10-16$ an hour, but farmers can't find people to pick (Mexican immigrants used to do the job)
Now, asian immigrants are being brought over to do the jobs Mexicans won't do (I think one guy said he's paying them 12$ an hour plus food, room and board)
Minimum wage or just above. And for those of you who think that americans will work the jobs they have then why did all the oranges in California freeze over. They said that they couldn't get any americans to pick the oranges and had to rely on the Mexicans. So it is good they are here. and they do get paid less and not because of the laws because of the owners
