"MEXICO CITY - President Felipe Calderon launched a program Monday to create jobs for young Mexicans and curb the flow of millions of migrants to the United States.
The program will give cash incentives to companies for hiring first-time job holders. Calderon, who took office in December, campaigned on promises to boost employment opportunities in Mexico, vowing to be the "Jobs President."
A conservative who narrowly won the July election, Calderon is under pressure from a strong leftist opposition to alleviate poverty affecting half the country's citizens."

When did I say anything about race on the other question? I said that illegal immigrants, regardless of race, are actual people and do get tired on other people bashing on them all the time. If I was in that situation I would get my azz out of here first chance.

Bravo to him! It is a step in the right direction and I hope to hear of more and more ideas from him along this line. I just hope he is serious and not just spewing smoke.
Calderon is taking a good first step towards improving Mexico's economic problems but he will need mass quantities of perserverance to sustain his programs which will be resisted by socialist groups that have already voiced their intent to bring violent reaction to the table. Mexico's police force is so rife with drug trafficer-friendly crooks that it is almost a sick joke. That nation has bountiful resources which could make it an economic force. Maybe not a powerhouse like the US, but a real positive force if Calderon can succeed in getting a majority of his citizens motivated to participate in the process and squelch the socialist tide that has been feeding rampantly since its revolution in 1912.
