Yes we have tons of oil in America, but we want to store it in case we ever need it for a war, so we like to use other peoples oil. We could go years without any foriegn oil just on what we have stored alone.

kinda vague ur question... but i assume ur asking if USA has its own oil supply.
well USA has Texas, wich is mostly an oil state, there are many excavations where they extract crude oil from beneath earth..
this oil supply is not enough to all the country so USA need 2 buy it from another countries like Mexico or Irak where their main export item is oil.

america has oil. lots of it. in alsaka texas and elsewhere. but it is of a fairly low grade and requires much refinement.
it is generally cheaper for us to buy it elsewhere.

I've heard somewhere that we supply %60 of our own oil. The shift from high supply to low supply jacks the price up by virtue of it being less abundant though. Alaska and Texas are rich in oil, not to mention the numerous off shore sites in the pasific(?) and the gulf of mexico. We just use alot of it : /

supply of Oil Shale (approximately 1.2 trillion barrels),
it is a little harder to remove from the ground but we have
known for years how to refine it.
