It's just a guess......but I'm willing to bet Mexican women find their self-worth through their men and having babies. It wasn't all that long ago when American women felt like they'd be "old maids" if they weren't married by 18. You weren't considered a "woman" till you had your first child. They got permission to be allowed to work outside the home and many husbands forbid it because it was an insult to his manhood and ability to provide. Keep the "lil lady home...barefoot and pregnant" while they carried on as they saw fit. I guess I was lucky to have parents who found a balance but many didn't. I remember having friends who's moms would have literally a spotless house. Their husbands rarely saw them without them looking "perfect"......lord knows...no make-up and looking frumpy and he might look elsewhere. You had to be perfect, the house had to be perfect, the kids had to be perfect......anything wrong and it was "her fault". Even though my parents were sort of balanced for the time.....they were old fashioned and Dad ruled the home. Dinner was on the table at 5. Not 1 minute earlier...not 1 minute later. Kids were moms job and once Dad got home.....you shut your mouth and go to your room and study. Women measured themselves as being "better" by who got their kid potty trained first, if their kid made the honor role. If your husband was threatned by your success...sometimes they had to quit in order to save the guys ego. Then we tilted in the other direction and lord knows where we are now. But many women were raised to basicly "serve" the man. Seems that's whats apparent here. Heck I tolerate things from my husband that my daughters wouldn't think of tolerating. My mother tolerated things I never would. Once these ladies get "Americanized"....they aren't going to lay around and take the crap either. Granted....all Mexican men don't fit that mold.....but like most guys....there are a few good ones that keeps the hope alive. If she's like many women in the past.....she just wants to be married to somebody who'll take care of them. Add a "green card" and well.....white or not and you're a good catch. American men are starting to get you don't beat women and all that.....wasn't that long ago they didn't get it either. Some still don't. Apparently way too many Mexicans don't get it, and well.....they'll learn.
Hate to tell you but when you go to Mexico women experience the same you get alot of Mexican men hitting on women ...and you do not have to be white !! Just a ticket out of their country after marriage !It happened to every girl I have known and we've been numberous of times .

Umm, first and foremost, your colorful description of a Mexican woman's life is full of stereotypes. Kind of offensive, if people are sensitive.
I'm not that easily offended though, I understand the misinformation out there. While there maybe some who are like this, I find it rare. I can't think of one Mexican woman who would fit your description.
Any who, so what if a Mexican girl wants to date a white guy? It happens, my cousins married to a white guy, and has been so for 16 years.
Just because this one neighbor said that, doesn't mean all Mexican woman are doing the same thing, or that it's a new trend. Mexicans sometimes date White's, it's nothing new.
