One question, have you ever tried to apply for a position as a cherry, apple, orange, peach, grape, strawberry, onion, lettuce, garlic, or canteloupe picker? probably not, these spots are only taken by immigrants, talk to any agriculture grower and he'll tell you how many white or blacks(not that i'm a racist but these people are the ones disguising their racism against hispanics with a worry of border security) have tried to work at any of those jobs? They are aware that immigrants, out of necessity will provide cheap labor, And this is a great contribution to America. What happens to immigrants' income tax?Oh, that's right, the gov't keeps it!
None at all. The cost of tax money far outweighs and price drop of goods. The lowered standard of living, crowded living, and deterioration of Americans heritage could equate to a detriment.

Illegal alien criminals are sponging off the taxpayer. The illegals bring in disease because they haven't been immunized. They destroy our schools and health care system. They pay no taxes but the taxpayers pay for their support. Crime and drug problems increase. Illegal alien criminals steal the identity of citizens. Illegals steal jobs that citizens WANT. They send money back to their home country instead of putting it back into the economy. Shall I continue?

Immigrants (legal or otherwise) work at low wages, which benefits the economy of America. They also, if they own a home, pay taxes on the home by having a TIN (Tax Identification Number), which is given to them as quickly as possible while becoming a citizen takes YEARS. Of course they also pay sales tax, they pay really high interest rates on anything that they can get financed.
They pay less than what they cost statewide but pay more than what they cost Federally. That's how they benefit you. MONEY.

The people who benefit from this are the perpetrators, who don't get universal education in their own country and come to overcrowd our children's schools, and the employers who are happy to pay poverty level wages knowing their workers will be subsidized out of the social services WE pay for. The employers send their kids to private school and live in gated communities. They don't care about the public schools or need a second gate at the border.
To the person above who mentioned the taxes SOME of the illegals pay, most illegals are too poor to pay taxes to cover even the $10,000 per child per year for education in PROPERTY TAXES which is what pays for our schools. We subsidize OUR poor people, but never signed up to subsidize those illegally here at the expense of year round school schedules tought by emergency credentialed teachers. Gifted programs, languages, and PE, amongst other programs have been cut across the board in illegal immigrant impacted areas such as LA. The programs that benefit our own children are cut to pay even more to ESL programs and 'target programs' to help try to lift test scores of those who should not be here. Since it is a revolving door with a constant 'new' influx of people who speak no English, there is no 'solving' their scores. You aren't testing the same people every year.

The economic downside is that the cost to the economy of benefits that the state and federal government provide far surpass the benefit of lower commodity prices.
The greatest downside however is the ultimate population explosion now in progress which will lead eventually to economic destruction.
