How about admitting that securing the borders is even less than forty percent about Mexico. Securing the borders is about stemming the drug trade, plugging up the transit route for terrorists, and drying up the illicit trade of unsafe items like toothpaste, fish, dietary supplements, and pet foods that have been laced with everything from ingredients for antifreeze, to sedatives. Securing the borders means securing the shipyards, the north, and the air. Mexico is the buzz word that the politicians are using to get elected. ALl numbers given is just a guess. THe figures I get is around three quarters of all illegal immigrants are hispanic. Around half of all illegal immigrants are Mexicans. Where did you get the 40% figure. By the way, people who tell me to learn the facts, I am sceptical about them actually knowing. LIke I said, you can't get harder numbers, and I find it a bit much for someone to say they know better than others. I meean how can you get an accurate count of people who are trying to hide.

Supply figures from reputable sources, or put a sock in it. There is a difference between FACTS and diarrhea of the mouth.

20 million illegal Mexicans in this country. for your number to work that means that at least 30 million non Mexicans are illegally here. Most of these are probably students overstaying a visa.
I would be interested in see what you source for that number is.
I do think there is some racism but pointing out a group of people who are crossing our borders is NOT racism. Calling people offensive names and promoting hate is wrong but the rest of us should not be blamed for the actions of a few.
The definition of racism is NOT pointing out that the biggest majority of illegal immigrants are from a certain area of the world, that would be called statistics or fact if you want to get technical.
We need to concentrate on all forms of illegal immigration, including overstays.

If they are illegal they are not immigrants, because immigration is a legal process. I don't care what their nationality or skin color is.

So 25% may not be Latino (putting aside non-Latin American Latin countries, such as, for example the one that includes Rome.)
