I think it has to do with what generation they were born in and their own preferences, notice it's more acceptable now? I don't believe it is related to a persons race.
They're not. You're making a huge assumption. Women of all nationalities have been known to have relationships with other women. Just because a woman isn't married (young) or doesn't have a child doesn't mean she's, for lack of a better term, "gay."

actually two of my ex wives turned out to be lesbian, my late aunt was a lesbian, and now my daughter is a lesbian. i have known a lot of lesbians. i never cared whether a woman was lesbian or not as long as they didn't let that stand in the way of me getting laid. they are less likely to have aids and such and are general really hot in the sack. i am not complaining. it is friday nite and i would love to have a hot, hungry lesbian come over and have chili and beer and watch the game with me. woooooo, let's get it on!

but you do hit upon a raw nerve that is increasingly worrisome: that 7 out of 30 white women in first world countries are marrying too late to have children because they put off marriage to get PhDs, which they believe will buy them all the "toys" out there like big screen high def tvs, ipods that hold 25,000 songs, the latest and greatest blue tooths along with headsets that they don't need, high priced, brand new cars that lose 1/3 of their value the moment they drive them off the lot (as well as keeping them seated all the time, which is why american women are larger in size than in and before the 1950s, when women walked a lot), and, of course, i must mention: the condo! they have, as my generation used to say, copped to the notion that their savings and their toys and their condos and their clothes will make them more attractive to men, but many of them mistreat decent men who would like to make a family with them. the power that they gain in their high salaried jobs is another of their dangerous hungers. some of them are mental messes. and because they do not have a child, they never learn essential qualities that make them so attrative to men anyways: tolerance, patience, how to show love and affection, and laughter. so what are they buying for themselves but a pile of misery and resignation when they are old, without children?
although these women are not in general lesbians, they are not producing enough babies to meet the "replacement birth rate:" that rate of birth that replaces those that die. in europe, the reason that so many middle easterners have been imported into first world countries like france and england is beause too many of their citizens will not take standard jobs. they complain of the muslim growth in their countries, but they don't do their part in having babies to make it any different. and, may i add, who says that every white (or not white, but first world) baby should grow up to go to college? some kids are just not cut out for it and are better in trades and in opening and running businesses.

here is yet another consideration: men simply refuse to learn how to please a woman sexually. it is easy and it would only take them giving some time to learn--from their wives and girlfriends--what their anatomy really is, how to find their center of pleasure, and then learn that it really does not take much time to give them the sexual release that makes them be much better, more passionate, lovers to their men. i find it atrocious that 78% of american women have recently reported that they do not get clitoral orgasms, ever, with their men. but then again, if they do not vocalize this complaint to their man, asking him to learn how to give them a clitoral orgasm, the best type, how in the world will the men know that they want them???
