Is it possible for a puerto rican living in the US to get deported back to puerto rico?

Answer:
Dar is right they are "Statutory Citizens" under the Jones Act, and they cannot vote in our elections, unless they are residents in the US. But they can collect welfare from the U.S. Welfare System, it sounds crazy but it is true .They truly are considered a Class B Stock because they did want their own sovereignty and voted against Statehood. But for the sake of argument regarding immigration they cannot be deported they are considered Citizens. So, Dee Why if you are Puerto Rican you can't be deported. But if you are an illegal Alien, Asta lavista, bambino!
no we own peurto rico!!
No. Puerto Ricans are American citizens.

They can be extradited because of pending legal charges, but this is no different than any state.
NO!

But, be careful. You might wind up in Guantanamo!
I thought Puerto Ricans were American citizens.
People from Puerto Rico are US citizens. If they moved to the main land they're technically not immigrants so they can't be deported.
No, you can't get deported.
We own Puerto Rico, so you can't get deported. However, if you committed a crime in Puerto Rico I would imagine you could be sent back there, just as if you committed a crime in another state and fled to a different state, you could be returned to the state where you committed the crime.
Interesting question. I doubt it, since they are a 'statutory citizen' under the Jones Act, but that whole citizenship thing is really unusual and I can't say for sure.

I'm laughing at the thumbs down. I don't understand Puerto Rican citizenship. They can't vote in our elections, unless resident in the US and I'm not sure how exactly it works once they are here. I think people don't understand that there truly is a 'class B stock' aspect to their citizenship. It is because they wanted their own sovereignity and voted down statehood, twice. I'm not suggesting we are superior, only that the class of citizenship really is different.
As an puetorican, you go directly to jail and would not qualify for deported. You can seemly deported yourself back home after you done serving time as a play mate for all the boys in side.
NO, they can not as much as a citizen from Alaska or Hawaii or Saint Thomas, Virgin Island or Guam or American Samoa. Puerto Ricans are as Americans as you or any other American. in the 50 states.Their status is a Commonwealth as Virgina, Massachusetts, etc. were before they became states. When you are in Puerto Rico you are in the USA. Good luck.!
no...............although puerto Rico is not a state.......it is a united states province...........they enjoy all the privileges that a citizen of the states would have.........the only time one would be sent back is through extradition.......that,s a different subject!
Puerto Ricans are US Citizens and are not subject to deportation FROM the USA.
no. they are apart of America. I'm white and i find this question offensive. Porto Ricans have a right to be here in the united states.
You can't get deported to Puerto Rico because its part of the US
NO! Puerto ricans are NOT U.S. citizens nor do we own Puerto Rico, got back to school, Puerto Rico is part of the United States Common wealth, they don't pay taxes either, thats why their goverment was failing a few years ago. If Puerto ricans were U.S citizens they wouldn't be called Puerto Ricans.
