You sure are on a rant today. The idea is that legal citizens can be tracked and charged and brought to justice and if an illegals commits a crime, that is a crime that would not have happened if they were not here. Our criminals are our problem, Illegal criminals should be their own country's problem.
The logic is that they shouldn't be here to commit that crime. Sure we have our own percentage of crime and poverty both. We have absolutely no need to import more.
Unfortunately we are a very violent country....in my opinion due to lax gun laws. Even if every illegal Mexican were to go home, we would still have a very high crime rate. American on American crime would still be everywhere. Racists here just need to blame everythng on illegal immigrants from e-coli to an ingrown toe nail.
It's a dumb argument that illustrates a valid point. We document every person that is born in this country and number them so that we know who's here. Yet when we ask the same of the people who were born somewhere else to enter our country by the rules, and take an interest in the integration of immigrants into our "melting pot" society, we are labeled racists.
Just saying Americans do it does not make it right to condone the acts of people who are illegally here make it right.

Americans killing Americans does not make for a good headline. It doesn't feed into the nationalist pride. It doesn't cause you to fear some boogieman invading your country.
American on American crime should be more of a focus than it is. America has one of the highest per capita violent crime rates for a developed nation. The is caused and compounded by a variety of serious social issues that are rarely addressed.
You will have to dumb yourselves down with endless hours of Jerry Springer, malt liqueur and Cheetos in order to begin to understand a racists mentality, as for logic you cannot find something that doesn't exist.
I agree with you 100%.The anti-illegals don't ever mention stuff like that because they know that we Americans would look way worse than the illegals.They need to get their head out of their *sses and stick it in to reality.

I don't see it as a "dumb" or "racist" issue. This is a situation that is typical of "decision making analysis", which itself is a subject not usually seen at undergraduate level. To function on a daily basis, we develop certain "heuristics" (kind of like a recipes or formulas) that can be considered "common sense" and usually perform well under most circumstances. A good example of this applied to this problem is the answer given by DAR. However, these heuristics often also lead to poor assessments and decisions.
An analogy could be that of the case of a disease for which there is vaccination. You could say that a certain amount of people die each year to that disease an because these deaths are preventable there should be mass vaccination. Obviously no one considers mass vaccination for, say TB. Another analogy that can be made is with automobiles. Everyone says that car accidents are the #1 cause of deaths, but no one considers banishing cars. In both theses cases, the simple heuristic is replaced by a more thought out reasoning that considers, among other things, the cost : benefit relation.
