Not for most, because Welfare checks a persons status through the INS. They don't just check the SSA #'s, they actually check their status here in the U.S. government. They also have their fingerprints taken that is also checked against the database. But I am sure that some are able to slip through the system.

Yes, some of them do. Some are done thru agencies that are set up to assist illegal immigrants, isn't that nuts? Some of our own people are also the working poor and they do not qualify for any type of assistance.I think that everyone that is illegal should be deported and made to go thru the proper channels. I'm not against allowing people to immigrate here, I'm just against illegal immigration.
Illegal aliens also use those fraudulently obtained IDs to procure employment because they can not legally be employed in this country unless they have gone through the proper channels in immigration.
But you see, the more people that collect the more job security there is for the social welfare workers... and why should they do anything to lower the number of people on welfare because that would jepordize their job.. no.. it's much more important to allow these people to get through the system and not bother with the law...
UGH!! I am so frustrated with our system. Across the board - get rid of the social welfare system and make poeple work to live. People not on assistance have to do it.
nope if they're illegal they cant get these things,but their US born children can. welfare runs ur SS # so does child support when they look for the baby's daddy! so they aren't eligible but their kids may be. plus most of the SS #'s they buy r form deceased ppl, so when they run the #'s they come up as deceased. c'mon ppl lazy is lazy....
Everyone is going to say "Yes' but the factual truth is that they are very scared to use those id's and social sec. cards. They use them to work and that's it.
There always are brave, or stupid people who push the limits but the average "illegal" just wants to work.
Housing and all of those other state issues assistance programs are not easy to get.
I am pro-illegal - if one can actually be THAT - but I do not feel that anyone should be allowed to have that unless they are a full fledged North American.
They cannot get welfare or anything with fake SS#'s.They can get jobs with them, but that's all.If you guys knew what you were talking about, then you would know that when they go to use their name with somebody else SS#( their fake one)any government agency will find out as soon as they enter the info. into the computer that the name and SS# don't match up and they cannot get any benefits.I know that's true about AZ.
No you have to be an American Citizen and or Resident and prove it to be able to receive any Government benefit.

FYI...........I work part time in my local D.E.S office and I know for a fact that you don't know what you are talking about. False documents do not get by in our office. There name must match with their social security number so I don't know where you are getting your info but you are wrong and I know this for a fact. The only thing that false social security cards are good for is to get a job but then that don't last for long. They don't get food stamps either.

Every time the feds try to crack down on illegal immigration, they are stopped by the business owners who profit from hiring illegals.
And it's not like living on assistence is a life of luxury, you know. It's pretty bleak, not comfy.
There are probably a few people cheating the system, but most illegals are here for jobs.

Their cheap labor is why we can buy food more cheaply than we would otherwise.
