Can an H1b holder start a business, or can own a store business?
Answer:
I have read some information. The answer is NO. You will have to have investor visa instead. With H1B, you can ONLY work for the employer who sponsored you. Ask an Immigration lawyer to find alternatives.
And just to add, to have an Investor Visa (which is ultimately a conditional permanent resident card for two years, and then you file to remove conditions before the card expires & youre given a 10 year card) you have to invest 1 million dollars in your company.
Its stupidity, really, and it's getting worse.
Your H-1 needs to be sponsored by a company and you cannot sponsor yourself.
