Why do proillegals use 200 to 400 year old history of European colonization as an excuse?

They use history in an attempt to make everyone an illegal alien or an immigrant. There is no excuse for breaking the law so they want to make us like them ... illegal ... and then we have no right to stop them. Duh factor in overdrive.
A good number of them do not want Americans as neighbors they want to reclaim the southwest and remove everyone that is not Hispanic.
The list of racist statements they were carrying on posters during Law Day marches in 2006 & this year is long. I won't repeat them because it will only make me angry. There are plenty of photos on the net where you can see for yourself.
Maybe it has something to do with what's written on the bottom of the Statue of Liberty.
They want us to answer for behavior that we had no control over, so they do not have to be responsible for their behavior now

Because they are grasping at straws trying to convince people that illegal aliens are not criminals. They always try to play the race card, but never bring up the fact that it is not only White Americans that are against illegal immigration. I am Black (not African American) but a total "American" & I am very much against "illegal" immigration. Pro-illegals do not want to hear reality, but... you are right... they want to bring up nonsense about 400 year old wars!
I, as well as you, think that the "we were here first" excuse is not valid. But we should not ignore History while trying to get a political point of view. History, in fact, is a very important compoment of a valid argument.
The history they use is not accurate. They created a mythology around "Atzlan".
This is just a mythological place wich has never existed.
If they stuck to true history, they would realize that Mexico was conquered by Spain. Those were white people, so the Mexicans themselves are part white.
The Mexican Indians never held California. It was held by Spain, then Mexico after the Mexican revolution. The Mexican population was very small and only lasted for about twenty tears. The original inhabitants here were Native American tribes[not Mexican Indians], then Spaniards. Then pioneers came around the time of the gold rush.
After Mexico was defeated in the Mexican-American war[remember the Alamo] California was sold by Mexico to The U.S.
The true native people of California are the California Indians[not Mexicans]. And this land was not stolen ,it was purchased.
I think it is because they have no real connection with reality or history. Did it happen today or 400 years ago? What does it matter if it helps us. "What you never heard of the History we use. Are you sure You know history?" This was asked of me by someone who thought me conservative.
Because these folks tend to do too much feeling and not enough thinking. Sometimes the best decisions are the most difficult. Rather than recognizing and addressing the economic and financial cost of uncontrolled immigration of people who cannot support themselves or those they bring with them, they chose to ignore these issues. Rather than recognizing that these people, as illegal immigrants, have already broken several laws and are, in fact felons, they chose to ignore these issues. Rather than recognize the dangerous elements crossing our borders, trafficking drugs and literally firing on our border patrol officers, they chose to ignore these issues and the ramifications of allowing these people to come in unchecked.
The extraordinary financial drain these illegals place on our communities and the significant illegal activity associated with these people are secondary to their self serving acceptance of these people. Don't think it's self serving? Think it's selfless? Tell you what. Challenge Ted Kennedy or John McCain to accept a stranger moving into their house or apartment, eating their food, using their telephone and their ATM card and ask them if that would be acceptable. This is no different. The only potential difference is the fact that these pro-illegal folks don't see anything wrong with asking someone else, namely you and me, to accept such a burden. They're more than happy to finance their compassion on our dime.make that dollar, lots of dollars.
There is a reason that Mexico is a third world country. I applaud their compassion. I have it too, but my compassion and concern is for Americans. Mexicans would be far better served turning their energy and industriousness to making Mexico a 'land of opportunity'. In the mean time, we can I'm more than happy to accomodate immigration through LEGAL means.
BTW, have you noticed that the 'pro-illegals' folks don't respond with any reason? They simply resort to "You're ignorant" or "You're racist" and yet have no coherent, reasonable or intelligent argument to support their position. That's because there are none. They're just parroting sentimental goo that someone else fed them.
