You don't need too. All you have to do is hop a fence and you get all the free healthcare and education you want. You can even wave your original countries flag over top of the U.S flag here and still people will stick up for you.

Gonna have to immigrate legally, establish your legal residency, wait the requisite number of years, then take the citizenship exam. You'll have to learn how to capitalize "American". Good luck!

Like the majority of families that immigrated here many years ago, we went to Department of Immigration, and applied for citizenship, and be what you want. Even if others dont agree, called FREEDOM. God Bless.

I'd gladly pass on my Green Card application to you if I could. I have no idea why I keep getting emails and gov. letters in the post inviting me to become an American citizen: I have never contacted, requested or applied for this, yet I've been receiving these for the past 3 years now. I've written back informing them I'm quite happy where I am but they just won't take no for an answer! Guess they must think I'd make an ideal citizen...can't think why!!! lol
Seriously though, is this normal practice? Is USA looking for certain people to become American citizens? How'd they get all my personal details? brrrr.....spooky!

No, no, isn't that easy. If you are still in your country you couldn't just go to any American embassy or consulate and say: I want to become an American Citizen. You don't specify where are you living, if you are in the U.S. or not. Well if you are here, and have a minimum of five years of being an Resident Alien then you can apply for a citizenship without problems. Just go to the State Department and get more info. Or you can call the office and require the documents, you fill it with all the information and send it, then they will call you for an interview if you speak English and all your knowledge of the American History and laws.
