You probably will need to go to either the italian embassy (if there is one near you) or go to your immigration office and see what to do.. ALSO you can go online if you read italian and see what they say about the whole process.. In the US we have to go through our US State Department. The website has all of the info someone would need to immigrate here.
You might be able to get a visa for a while to see if you really want to get citizenship. :)

If you are from an EU country you can just book a flight and go for as long as you want.
You will need to get an Italian equivalent of a national insurance number when you start to look for work from the tax office, just bring your passport an it will take a few minutes

Go try living in Italy for 1 year to see how you like it. When you are in Italy, you can see which city is best for you. I for one, prefer the smaller cities, but that's me. Do you speak Italian? You should learn the language because don't expect everyone to speak English.
