Driving is NOT a RIGHT....it's a privalege. If you can't abide by the laws then you loose that privalege. Unfortunatly driving has become almost a necessity unless you live in an area with superb alternate forms of transportation and most fall short with things so far apart. Insurance has gotten out of hand for everyone and it's basicly because of the people who don't have insurance. I remember when I started driving and got beyond the teen years it was like 49 dollars a month. It's WAY beyond that now. Not because I'm a risk but because the prices have skyrocketed.
There are tons of laws and prices of things that I don't agree with or can't afford as well.....but you either abide by them or suffer the consquences.
Right now it's a free for all for illegals. They cause people permenant injury or death and all they have to do is run....claim they don't own anything and the worst is being deported while law abiding citizens are left to suffer. Yet they are the first to sue you for everything you own if you do something wrong. Sometimes you don't have to do anything wrong and are still screwed.
jail time and deportation sound like the thing to do all the way around.
First and for most illegal aliens do not have the legal right to be in the US so they should not have cars ,drivers license or insurance. They all need to be deported back to their country of origin. They are illegal.
They shouldn't be allowed a valid driver's license to begin with. They are here illegally, they shouldn't have one single right other than to be deported and jailed. And I mean jailed in their own country at their own government's expense.

I saw an accident where an illegal alien slammed into another car. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The illegal just got her purse and walked away.
That is why they don't transfer the title of the car/truck into their name. It becomes a desposable car if they get into an accident.
They should be deported.

well i dont think it would be a good idea for anyone, illegal or not. It would be bad if they got caught and it might lead to deportation...which is unfortunate. So many non illegals do it to though.
They're scummy, irresponsible people. They should be thrown in jail until deportation. If they get in an accident, they should be kept in jail until they are able to pay off damages with their new job, courtesy of the US - build a border fence for $1 an hour. They aren't citizens so minimum wage laws do not apply.
The ones who do not have insurance in their car is not because they do not want to have insurance, it is because they are in many agencies not allowed to have insurance since they have no license, and if they are alllowed they have to pay a real high price, they pay double in every type of insurance available, so It is kind of hard if you need money for other necesities.
It is wrong and they need to be prosecuted when caught.

Lets face the facts. The guy is here illegally thumbing his nose at our laws. He was caught once before and didn't show up for court...surprise surprise.... He simply got another fake id and off he went, once again thumbing his nose at our laws and you can bet the next time he is stopped he will have yet another fake id. The cops have been looking for him since 2004!!!!

I find liberals may be intelligent but SEVERELY LACKING in common sense. He seems to think that if we just give them drivers licenses they will buy insurance and everything will be just fine. What an idiot. It is liberal thinking that makes the problem worse. Every illegal knows that our laws cater to them.

That's really bad. They can send the money out of the country, but they can't uphold their own responsibilities to others on the road. It shows an obvious LACK OF VALUES.

They should be arrested. In Texas, to drive without insurance is against the law. Do they get arrested? Depends upon the officer there at the scene of an accident or the traffic stop. Sometimes, they just get a ticket.
As one that has been hit by someone that was illegal and with no insurance - I can tell you that it is a nightmare that none want to go thru.
Delaware should be THANKFUL that it only has "15,000 and 35,000 illegal immigrants". I know that Texas has more than its fair share and would LOVE to get rid of the problem.
What happens when an illegal alien ends up getting someone killed and they end up fleeing the scene?
This is just one more reason WHY the illegal aliens need to be sent back to their country of origin and have walls built to protect the citizens of the US.

It's wrong and they shouldn't be driving anyway if they are and disobeying our laws. Driving is a privilege. It's something that people earn by obeying our laws and going though driver ed etc..They have to earn it.Besides what happens if they have an accident with insured driver and leave? Who's gonna pay the bill? The taxpayers?
All of this is because they were not allowed to have a driver's license to begin with. Do you all see cause and effect? No, of course not. Seems so reasonable to take the drivers license away, but then no one asks what happens next. The answer is NOT "they quit driving and go home". What happens next is hit and run, because you have someone who has no identification, is not the owner of the car and will be arrested for driving without a license then deported. Plus he is more likely to have an accident because he did not have to take driver training or pass a test. What the hell did y'all think they would do after an accident, put their hands up and wait for the cops, while informing everyone they are illegal? But lets all feel good because we took away their licenses, we cant have them driving around with legitimate government identification so we know who they are and where they live, that would make them seem legal. Yes, of course, that is much more important than safety on our roads. ((slapping forehead))
I'm in Southern California and this is why I have LOTS of insurance.
