What is the proceedure that the post office do for a passport i was born in the united states and lived here?

my whole life so what do the post office do to verify that.

Answer:
1. You must take a certified copy of your birth certificate (must have official seal on it, usually county clerks office or department of records)
2. Go and get your passport pictures about $10 or so
3. Take birth certificate and pics to post office
4. Take cash as they won't accept credit cards or checks for part of the fee.

That's about it. You fill out a form, pay your money, testify that you are telling the truth. Then in a couple months you get your shiny new passport in the mail along with the return of your certified birth certificate.

You have lived here all your life and you call that a proper sentence?
