Puertoricans, are we exiles or inmigrants?
Answer:
Don't cry to me the PortoRicans voted against becoming a state in the USA Their own fault
Why not revolt and become a ind. country of your own and quit crying
You should learn how to spell. Its PortoRicans.
Aren't you US citizens?
Neither. You are US citizen...albeit confused citizens at that.
The problem with puerto rico is political...the people can't make up it mind whether to be independent or be a State. So the people straddle the fence ... I am sure most American would prefer puerto ricans make up their mind and go for one or the other. The way it is now, it's just one big welfare community, and not all the people are equally benefitting from it.
I believe it's time to stop living from the dole and start living as a proud member State of the United States or a proud, albeit poor, independent country. If you opt for independence I suggest avoiding being a banana republic by making sure the right politicians are at the helm. You want exampple? Go to Central and South America. Better yet, visit the Philippines. It was a commonwealth same as Puerto Rico but voted for independence.
Puerto Rico is not the only colony or possession of the United States. This bring something else to mind. Knowledge is power...but it's nothing to people too lazy to use their brain. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Then vote for state hood or your freedom to be on your own.
Your feelings seem to be a personal problem of self esteem.I know many proud people from Puerto Rico, they love their home and seem to be very happy productive successful people.
If you don't like whats going on then try to change it.Don't just sit and complain.
