I've always wondered that myself, and not just about illegal or Mexican immigrants. It seems like a certain proportion of each of the the immigrant groups, some higher than others, just can't get over the "old country". To me, the act of immigrating is a statement, you are saying that the country you are coming to is better than the country that you are leaving. If not, why leave?

They do not have freebies like welfare, food stamps, medical , wic and things like this there. They come here illegally, which is a crime, have many kids, claim the daddy is not living in the house, but he is. Daddy is making a pay check, wife at welfare office getting all the freebies, draining the US dry. Yet, they are so proud of Mexico, they need to go back or all be rounded up and sent back to the country they love so much. Flying the Mexico flag in America is a insult and they should be put in jail for it. If we tried to display the US flag in Mexico, we would be shot on site by the Federal Army there. Me, I say , ship them all back to their beloved country, today, right now.

Because it is their homeland. They were born there and they will always have strong ties to their homeland. Just as someone who was born in Alabama and moves to California loves Alabama still, a Mexican loves his/ her motherland. It is an understandable position. They like life here better...life here is easier. But no one can blame them for wanting to live here and still loving their motherland. I would actually ask more questions if they hated Mexico. Mexico is a beautiful country and there is a lot to love about it, but after a Mexican has been here for a while, with the better standard of living here, they adjust to life here and don't want to go back. I hope this clearly answers your question.
I'm white and live in Arizona (Phoenix). Where the population is about 20% iIlegal Mexicans. They come here out of survival. It's instinct to do what you have ot do to live. Those people just want to feed their families and save some money so they can go home and not worry about how they are going to make ends meet. Most Mexicans don't even like it here. They just want to make some money and go home! I know personally many illegal immigrants from Mexico. They love their life and culture at home. American culture is not their cup of tea.
They are hard working people who's work ethic beats about 75% of all Americans! They are not here for a free lunch!
