Who knows? Anything could happen. India has made a lot of advances, so that would be very interesting. As long as India seeks peace, I think everyone would be fine with that.

i wouldnt doubt that. china might be another one too. both have large pool for natural resources in their countries and their ppl are gaining vast knowledge and making breakthrus in different engineering and scienctific fields. given time, their technologies might take over the world.

I THINK SO BECOZ THERE IS NO HUMANITY WITH THE STATE TO STATE ITSELF.FOR EG WE CAN TAKE TAMILNADU&KARNATAKA,TAMILNADU &KERALA THERE IS WASTE OF THIER OWN ENERGY.THEY STUGGLE EVEN THE NATURAL SOURCE WATER ITSELF.THIS WAS MY GUESS.

It is possible but there is still too much corruption in India, too many uneducated people and too much superstition. Lack of regard for human life and arrogance toward those of lesser class causes India to be divided.
In order for India to become a first world power, the gender and class gap has to be narrowed. I've noticed that countries that are first world, treat women with a great deal of respect and give women jobs of great authority. It seems to me, countries that treat women badly are nearly all third world countries in spite of all the money and intellegence they may have available to them.
For India to be a world power, it will need to develop a lot more equality among the people and clean up corruption, arrogance and self promotion among the leaders.
America is not maintaining its world power leadership except in the number of war machines it has and America is becomming more and more corrupt. I can see America falling as a world power in the next century and even becoming a third world country as it is so divided and hateful among itself. The treatment of women there is starting slowly to decline and the morality of the people seems to be at an all time low.
India may over take America in its education, economics and technology but that isn't any assurance of becoming a truly first world leader of nations. And India also has to look at China as being a force to be dealt with. Chinese have incredible possibilities also.
