I'm sorry that you didn't give us any other pertinent information such as, do you know what State he might be residing in, do you know of any other relatives or friends that he might have visited or that might know where he is living now or might have lived in the recent past, how long ago might he have come to live in the U.S.?
There are literally hundreds of 'people search' databases advertised on the Internet. Some are free (at first, anyway) so, if you have his legal name and d.o.b. (date of birth), you can input the personal information and you might have a pretty good chance of locating him. It sounds as if he might have an 'uncommon' foreign name so there won't be too many "duplicate" matches (which is the biggest problem in searching for an American citizen).
