Well, it's hard to call in to work when you don't have a phone, you live in a 1-room apt. with 12 other people, and you all share a beat-up Ford Fiesta.
Thats a load of crap. I have been working for years and I have never taken a sick day. I people who have worked with illegals and say they are the laziest person there. Some of them dont show up to work for days, probably selling drugs. Illegals need to get kicked out of the country, no matter which country they are from. Illegals dont take the jobs Americans dont want, they take the jobs the employers are willing to pay poverty level wages for.
It depends on the situation whether or not anyone would call in sick from work. If you hire someone, and if you validate someone's eligibility to work for you, then they deserve the same benefits as the next worker, unless they are part time employees. If you are in the practice of hiring illegals, you should still treat them with some respect and dignity--at least before you are caught and have to pay a hefty fine for hiring them in the first place.

Yes, they would. A friend of mine did not go to work because her child got sick. Besides, many americans do go to work everyday, sick or not. My husband always goes to work.
