If I don't have an American passport or green card, would an offer of employment from a reputable professional firm be sufficient to allow me to stay in the country indefinitely (ie as long as I kept the job) or is it more complicated than that to be able to stay in the US longer than a normal visa would allow?
Answer:
Since 9/11 it has become more complicated. Go to the Department of state website and check out the immigration info.
I think you would have to go through the board of immigration. It has, as Rich said, gotten more complicated for people from other countries to come to live in the US, not that we don't want you but we have to make sure everything is safe for ourselves. I wish you luck in getting a job.
no stay where you are. i country is sinking with the weight of illegals.
