This question is for any naturalised British citizen around..?

what made you do it?any regrets or doubts in doing so?

Answer:
I did it because although I was not born here my father was British but born to a British officer stationed outside of the country. I always considered myself British but as I never needed a passport I did not know that my parents never registered me,then in around 1970/71 Edward heath changed the law and I found out that I could not claim through my Grandfather. When I came here (UK) in 1976 I came with my wife who is British and I later naturalised as I wanted to be a fully fledged member of the society I live in.
In the 30 years I have been here I have never claimed unemployment (dole) I have only seen the doctor occasionally, until recently and I have paid taxes and NI for those 30 years.
My family tree goes, from my father, back to 1536 and they were all born in Somerset until 1881 when my grandfather was born in London and joined the army. I am proud to be British and never cheer for the cricket/rugby teams from my country of birth if they are playing any British team ( I can never understand the Indians and Pakistanis that are born here cheering those teams). I will die here and my ashes will be buried in Horsington Somerset where my first relations on record were buried.
To answer your question directly yes I'm glad I did it.
