Emigration laws?

ok, I'm a permanent recident of The United States of America, if I get marry to some one who is not(he is illegal) how hard it will be for me to help him get his pappers(recidency) and what are the pocibilities for him to be sent to Mexico while in the procces . He has been here for over 10yrs and lawyers have tell him to marry some one who is a citizen, but like i say, i'm just a recident, and I dont want him to be deported to Mex, if we get marry i want him to stay here with me in the States and I want him to get his legal situation done! What can I do??? also, for me to become a citizen it may take like 5yrs, so I cant do that for now.Thakyou

Answer:
There's plenty of fish in the sea. Find yourself someone who is legal otherwise you will have to suffer the consequences. And don't say later that you weren't warned. You could be on the local Spanish station five years from now crying about how your husband got deported and you were left without a father for your kids. Save yourself the grief.
if he crossed the border illegally there is no chance that he will be granted permanent residence...if he got here with a visa there might be a small chance...
the part of your question that says "how hard it will be for me to help him get his papers" sounds illegal on your part. Either you love him and want to marry him and live with him forever or you don't. Either he loves you and wants to marry you and live with you forever or he doesn't. To be honest, your relationship, or how you described it, sounds like you are pushing him into something he may not want or you may be sorry you pushed.

*If the sponsor is a lawful permanent resident, they may petition for the following foreign national relatives to immigrate to the U.S.:
1. Husband or wife, or
2. Unmarried son or daughter of any age.
*In any case, the sponsor must be able to provide proof of the relationship.
Petey has this one. Usually I would say 'speak to an attorney' in this circumstance. In this case I have to suggest you speak to a better one. If he crossed illegally (not a visa overstay) he will have a heck of a time being legalized by marrying a citizen, either, if that makes you feel any better.

How do you like Mexico? I'm not being flip, but if he can't live here, maybe you both can live there. If that doesn't work, your options are limited.
the only way for him to get legalized is if you guys are married, then you can, but he has to get out of the country for 2 years.

50/50 chance

good luck!
