I knwo it costs lots of money, but dang how much is it costing to let them stay here. Also, build that dang great wall of the rio grande all the way from texas to california.
I am not yet prepared to make a statement, but I assure you that wasting billions on a 500 mile fence isn't the answer. Seeing as the other fence hasn't worked, why would this one?
We can start with a fence and work from there. Prosecuting employers and stopping the giveaways come to mind but I think a fence is a really good first step.

Enforcement of our laws. 1. control our borders and ports. 2. Fine, jail, and or close down those that have illegal immigrants working for them. 3. Fine and or jail those renting to illegal immigrants. 4. Deport all illegal immigrants here in our country. If we do 1, 2, and 3, we may not have many left to deport.

People keep going on and on about employers who knowingly hire illegals but the fact of the matter is that illegal aliens are able to produce documents. Only when they are notified by the IRS that the social security number and names do not match do employers know they have hired an illegal alien. They must then terminate employment. I would love to see someone post statistics showing the percentage of US employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Enforcement is the straightforward answer, but there's the issue of conflict-of-interest related to billions of dollars in money from revenue from businesses employing illegal aliens. If there was no profit from hiring illegal aliens, no one would be doing it, and it wouldn't be an issue.
