Does anyone understand just how hard it is for a mexican to come here the "legal" way?
Answer:
I do understand how hard it is firsthand because I´m going though the process myself with my husband. It´s long and you have to go through a lot of steps but I still don´t think the process should be made any easier. The US government has to have some sort of screening process. You can´t just let anybody and everybody in. Mexico has a much more stringent immigration process, which I had to go through. For instance, you can´t just get a work permit that allows you to look for any job you want like in the US. You have to find an employer who is willing to hire you first, then you have to prove why they need a foreigner to do the job and not a Mexican. This process costs just under 200 dollars and you have to renew the work permit every year, with the appropriate documentation and proof. It makes the US immigration process look like a walk in the park.
Its no harder for any other immigrant from any other country.
Have your friend call Senator Ted Kennedy. Kennedy will bend over backwards to get anybody in.
The fact that it is hard to buy a Lexus, doesnt justify stealing one.
COME ON NOW, WE DON'T CARE!!!!!
Your friend can thank the 20,000,000 illegals who are here now. The reason the visa is so hard to get is because massive numbers are here illegally from Mexico. Citizens of visa waiver countries get to come here without the hassle of a visa because, for the most part, they go home when they are supposed to.
Oh, cry me a river!!!!
THAT is a cop out, and you know it!!! What makes ILLEGALS any better than others who wait and come here LEGALLY?? They are NOT!!! In fact, they are LOWLIFES who CHEAT those who obey our laws by WAITING THEIR TURN!!!!
Nobody said it was EASY!!!! But if all the rest of the immigrants can WAIT, then so can the ILLEGALS!!!
Learn the language then we'll let you in... maybe
Didn't read all your question as I know the answer
I don't care how hard it is. I only care that it is done legally
This is the USA it is worth any amount of trouble to legally get here. The USA don't want another country's Rejects, only best and brightest need apply
The USA isn't the #1 place to immigrate to on the PLANET for nothing
WE are # 1 because we are the best
I only want what is best for my country
What is wrong with wanting the best for the USA
Lots of folks should stop wanting the rejects of third world SH*tholes
That guy said 'best and brightest need apply' HAHAHAHA! What idiots! He's lucky he was born here-otherwise he wouldn't be able to 'apply' to come into our country.
It's not EASY to immigrate anywhere......not even to Mexico. We have one of the most LIBERAL systems around. Countries don't want and can't handle the burden and expense of every Tom, Dick and Maria that wants to come on in. No one can just go to anyplace in the world they feel like just because they want to. Every single place has rules, guidelines and LIMITS!!!! You can't just have a global flood of people just going to where the gettings good and then move on when the coffers are empty. Even to just travel to certain areas there's things people have to go through to protect them from disease etc. There are rules. They are there to protect us. They are there for a reason.
We don't need to make it easier to get here legally...we need to make harder to get here illegally.
Sounds like the need a new government not a speed way to the US.
It should be hard to come here. Just like it is hard to get into Harvard, or takes a lot of hard work to become a multi-millionaire. Do you think I want to live next door to every infested dummy seeking asylum from crap holes all over the world? Gross.
I guess you must be a "nice" person and expect everything to be easy for everybody.
Fact is, things are not always easy. In fact, I have noticed in my somewhat lengthy time on the planet that the easier something tends to be ...the more likely that it is illegal or wrong or good for one and not another.
It could be that the reason it is difficult to arrive in the USA legally is because, as a country, we want capable, decent, law abiding people who wish to be here to become good, productive citizens who contribute to our country and society.
The illegals, for the most part Mexicanos, violate nearly every aspect I mention above. Not to say there aren't decent folks among them who do the correct proceeduer and come here as all other decent immigrants. Sadly, their brethern ruins it not only for the rest of AMericans but also for those of their own orientation who come here legally.
This must be and will be stopped. One way or the other. I am happy to say, I do see evidences that our government and leaders are starting to wake up and change things to the way they should be. It will take time but the damage done by the illegal Mexicanos has been rampant and that pain and damage will be held against them for a long time to come from what I can tell.
Coming here legally is the only way. Become a good citizen, speak English, adaptg our ways and join our group. To do otherwise will only lead you to a misery and disasterous life. That's what is currently happening. Illegals are starting to be awakened to this. It will only get worse before it gets better.
In the end, many of these illegals will come to realize it's not worth looking over their shoulders for La Migra, not worth being mistreated by all around them who know them for the criminals they are, and most certainly not worth having a family and children in such an environment to experience these very poor ways to grow up supposedly searching for the American Dream. A dream such people and their children will very rarely if at all, find due their foundations of illegal immigration status.
It should not be easy to get out of your own country and get into the United States today. Lots of things are different now than they were even 20 years ago. Why do the majority of these immigrants want to come here anyway? Is it because they want to live better, in a better country, and be able to work? Perhaps they should look at their own country and try to make internal changes there rather than trying to enter this country illegally and receive benefits without being a productive, or legal, member of the society.
Hey, do you realize how difficult and expensive it is for anyone to come here?
I'm trying to get a Swiss/German Ph.D. researcher here for a 3 month sabbatical to do work to help cure a nasty worldwide disease and she has to fill out all sorts of paperwork, pay out the nose, give a notarized statement that she has a job and that her employer university there will pay her salary while here, repeat the process because the statement didn't say she made so much money PER MONTH (god forbid she comes here like most without a dime), apply for an interview at her US embassy, answer many questions, convince them she's not a terror threat, and hope she gets a visa!!! Then pay over $1000 for a plane ticket!
This is just a visitor. Our other foreign researchers, highly educated people, wait years for Green cards and pay thousands of dollars of their own hard-earned money.
Then they can apply to bring their family over and wait some more.
Illegals have it easy and the fact that they go back and forth like we're a bank with a revolving door, makes a mockery of our laws and our entire legal immigration system.
