My Mother was adopted from Germany - can I apply for German passport?

She was adopted when only a few months old. She has never had German citizenship. We have contact with her biological family. What are the requirements for this? Would I be able to get EU passport?

Answer:
You mention that your mom has never had German citizenship. If she was adopted from there, could mean that she was born there. That means she has German citizenship by birth.

If you want to get a German citizenship, it would be by naturalization and you would need to find out how to get it by contacting the German Immigration and Naturalization office.
yea, go to your post office and ask question about ghetting a passport, you can get it there
probably she was a German citizen (what else could "adopted from Germany" mean?) and was adopted by a foreign national - in that case she very probably lost her German citizenship and you may apply for naturalization of German descendants (if your German language is good enough and if you're willing to give up your current citizenship etc...)
