We have some Cuban neighbors and they are very nice people. they BBQ a pig in the backyard every weekend and the damn pig squeals its head off before it gets chopped. But it tastes really good and the rice is good too, though strange.
I think the policy is silly, for instance in one case they caught a bunch of Cubans on a barrier reef. Well, it went through the courts who determined that the reef is not American soil, therefore they were sent back. You would think if they were really horribly oppressed, we would let them stay not try our damndest to catch them before they reach our soil, then suddenly pull a 180 and give them lottery-like benefits once they do get here...just another instance of the U.S. immigration policy not making any sense...

I'd swim my *** off towards a better country to if it meant free cash, medical and tax advantages.

It is the policy of the US to grant asylum to people who would be tortured or killed if sent back to their country of origin.
People from Cuba who land on this country are granted such status, because they would be tortured or killed if sent back to Cuba.
Our politicians (both parties) are so afraid to anger any of the "special groups" so they appease them and allow them to stay. They are pandering to the latino lobby with their latest amnesty that will bankrupt this country.
The politicians are only looking at power, getting re-elected and getting that lobbyist cash.
I am very concerned about all ILLEGAL immigration and not at all concerned by legal immigration.
If you don't like the laws as they are, then VOTE in the next elections rather than crab about it.
How many messages, handwritten letters, telegrams have you sent YOUR congressional representatives? Senators?

I think that it is wrong that all the Cubans get all these benefits, but I dont really see it as messed up. The reason for letting them come here like that is because they live in a really bad country, plus that trip is hard for them to make.
Im not for illegals, but maybe they should begin to spread them out in the US or something or send them back. but the reason that they wont send them back is because they will get killed right away and their whole entire family
I think the reason we have this policy is because the people are leaving Cuba which is still a communist country. Hopefully when Castro is gone we will change our policy.I am only quessing..
