Also, even though Hispanics are the largest growing minority and they might become the majority someday doesn't mean anything, Half of Hispanics were opposed to the amnesty bill, because they know that it wasn't in the best interest of the US. Who cares? Everyone came from somewhere else, at one time or another. The Indians came to the Americas across the Bering Straight, when there was a land bridge. The rest of us came later, by boat, from Europe, Africa, Asia, later, but still came. That's what humans do - they move! If the Constitution still holds, this will still be "the land of the free" - who cares who runs it, if they run it by the laws that let them in?
before that happens their is going to be a civil war in Mexico it is way before 2050. Your biggest fear is not what the Mexicans will do here. But what about the wideing gap between the haves and the have nots in this country.

We use to have medical insurance at almost any job. Pensions and profit sharing. That is slowly chipping away it is almost a repeat of what happen in Mexico.
They use to have a middle class. When we lose ours we will be trying to get into Mexico they should have theirs fixed by then.
They are already wanting to do away with our social security and health care for the elderly like they did in Mexico.

This is absolutely true. Having lived in California for many years, it's obvious Hispanics will breed themselves into the majority. Most are Catholic, which is used as an excuse to breed out of control as the Catholic church does not believe in birth control.

If we offer amnesty to them, that will solidify their position, making it harder to fix our problems. If you go into Mexican neighborhoods, they are similar to Mexican cities, so YES, they are trying to turn this into a newer rendition of Mexico.
I love this country, same as many of you. I do not want it turned into a 3rd world country. The sad thing is that I really think it is heading that way.
I agree with Terry D, also, just look at what our companies are offering for "benefits" now. No more health insurance, no more pensions, etc. Social security will cease to exist, as well as many other governmentally funded programs. The police forces will be overrun by way too much work. Corruption already rules the Whitehouse, and they are just throwing gas on this fire.
This situation is going to get very ugly in the next couple of years.
Whomever said that it's natural for humans to move is right, but it's also natural for humans to adapt. I think, or should I say HOPE, that we as Americans can adapt and overcome this problem.
Considering the US population is nearly 5/3rds of that of Mexico and Latinos are still just a minority, I don't consider it a problem.
There will be tension and more backlash in the short term, but an equitable compromise will work itself out. Then things will go more smoothly. People who look at short term trends and then project ahead 30 years have been very inaccurate many times more than they have been close to accurate.
Unless of course, you're just fear mongering with these allegations of non-dynamic demographic shifts?
Many extremists on both sides of this argument have real big insecurity complexes about race and ethnicity it seems.
If you're bragging, you're trying to cover up your powerlessness. If you're blustering, you're trying to hide your fear that the bragger's might try to make good on their threats. Extreme arguments rarely carry the day in politics so I'm not too worried.

Mexicans cannot even effectively run their own country. That's why crime, corruption, and the economy are a total mess down there and that's why they're all coming here. When Mexicans can prove they can handle running Mexico then I'll worry about them "running" the US.
I doubt it. Reasons - they are talking of Mexican legals and illegals coming into the country. Most illegals just want to make their quick retirement money, and go back home like the Braceros did back in the 1940's.

I don't think the Mexicans or all the other illegals from Latin America are more concerned with "running" this country than "ruinning" this country because of the ways they are abusing the systems. Some people keep saying that oh, didn't your ancesters came here to escape the problems from home? but the difference is that those who came here from 1700's,1800's,1900's had the resolve to not only make a better life for themselves but to make a better place for themselves and others to live. Don't for get the delcaration of Independence, don't forget the Constitution. And don't tell me that the U.S. is the same as Britain, Germany, France, Holland, Africa, ..The ancesters created laws with the welfare of the future generations in mind. They might not have the best interest of people of all races in mind at the time, but looking at the diversity of races in this conutry, ( I am not saying in-equality doesn't exist!!) I think it's safe to say that they made a place where many many from the rest of the world want to live in.
As far as the Mexicans and the rest of the illegals from Latin America?
They have been protesting for the rights they don't have, they have been demanding things they don't deserve, they have abused the public resources of this country to death and crying discrimination when threatened with the loss of it, they have trashed and downgraded cities and towns all over the country...
I am still holding my breath to see these illegals to measure up to those who came to build a better world!!
