Answer:
Try Bunac. They have age restrictions, but it is a great and legal way to work in England and other English speaking countries.

well if you get shot in the head 8 times by the police for looking like a terrorist dont come running to me crying... Illegal immigrants in England we dont have such a thing inthe dictionary everyone is welcome here.,..
If we find you working w/o permission we'll send you home. Think twice.
Seriously, off the books jobs exist but the pay is horrendous. You are looking at about £2 - £3 an hour. People hiring illegals do it for two reasons, employees are already on govt benefits, so the job is just some supplementary income, or employees are illegal immigrants, or visa overstayers and are absolutely desperate and employers can exploit that desperation. If you can employ someone legally for £4.50 an hour, why would you risk employing someone illegally?
The chances of you actually being found out are limited, but the conditions you will be working in will be awful.
My sister went on a holiday to England and stayed for 10 years. She married an Englishman over there . It took her about 6 months to get a work permit. She worked for ABC News London. Save money by staying with friends, maybe they can find you a little something to do (housework whatever) while you are waiting for a work permit.Of course she was ther in the 1970,s I am sure it is harder now. Call the British embassy and ask some questions.
