You must have an american work permit known as a green card to work here. You must apply for a green card through immigration. Find a lawyer, and find a sponsor to help you.
no its a free country don't ever think that way
you DO NOT need a green card.
just a work permit. look up H1B visa, for example.
all the jobs are in india
why not go to india?
I am a Jamaican in the US too and no you do not need to be an American.
A green card is also not the same as a Work permit. If you are college student, it is easier to apply for a work permit and to get a temporary social security number that will allow you to work. You can also apply for an F-1 Visa also known as an OPT for when you graduate (allows up to 12 months to work in your field in the US).
If in college or looking to go, speak to an International Student advisor to get more info.
If you are in Jamaica and want a job here, your best bet is to go the US Embassy to find out more info, especially what positions the US is actively seeking overseas people to fill (namely teachers and nurses).
No... go to Jamaica Ave. in NY in the clothing stores... They hire or some Jamaican Restaurants hire as well. Even babysitting is another option.
