To Illegal Immigration supporters, should we do away with border patrol and fences altogether?
Answer:
I think that you ask a great question. I consider myself to be a liberal. I have no problem at all with border patrol and fences, but why just protect our southern border? It is not just Canadians that enter the U.S. from the north. Also, what about our coastal borders? There are huge sections of coastline that have very few border agents stationed for patrol. I am all for people entering our country, LEGALLY.I can honestly say that I understand the debate from both sides on our current immigration policy. I agree with different aspects on both sides, but can't really make my mind up, yet. So, no I don't think that we should do away with them. We should, however, change to protect all of our borders.
Yeah.and free food all along the way...and fresh water. Hell maybe even give them a ride...
Smart Borders is the way to go.
Ill give you props though, you made me laugh although I disagree with your ideology.
OK! Why do you think they come over here? Did you know most of the hard labor is done by the "illegal immigrants?!" you don't know half the story...talking out of the *** is very unattractive, please don't do it.
I have said it before, run all americans including the Bush family out of Texas, put up a 100 foot wall with a 200,000 volt fence on the top, have an entry gate only and send all the illegals there. If your illegal, you ain't entitled to a damn thing in this US of A that I fought for. None, Zilch and Nada
No. Countries have a right to exercise their immigration laws. This country chooses not to exercise its immigration laws primarily because many sectors of the U.S. economy depend on the labor this illegal influx of immigrants provides. I support a comprehensive reform plan that can ultimately grant these workers (not criminals) access to a way to legally work and live here. Either way, no one is going "home". We should do away with away with unjust wars and invasions and seek have efficient migration, where the deman for work is fulfilled by interested workers in a humane way, without people risking their lives crossing the border.
Yes lets put up a fence on both sides
But Start With Canada So The 50 Million Legal Latino Americans know its about illegal immigration and not about race. Anything else and you got trouble.
Yeah just like you benefit from their blood, sweat and cheap labor, your entitled too, right?
actually no, I take the stance that there needs to be good border protection and then giving options to the people that are already here.
Some good quality catapults set up on the border could get them back across the river
The late night Moron arrived early.
Did you all know cincy just loves Mexicans to death,.
no! they do have the right to a better life but so do the people who were born in this country who need their jobs! i have no problem with immigrants as long as they are here legally. i and billions of others around the world obey the law so why shouldn't they have to! and if they do away with border patrols and fences whats to stop the next terrorist attack in this country. Yes 99.9% of them are just looking for a better life but what about that .1% that want to do harm to us. its better to give them a little bit of a hassle when they come in than to have the next 9/11 or worse.
Well, I'm not an illegal alien bleeding heart *****. But, I'll answer your question with a resounding NO!
Close the border today, enforce our existing laws by profiling illegals and enforcing jail time for employers. If this doesn't "fly", it's time for a revolution to take back our country from the true definition of "fascism".
we should do away with stupid questions like this one!
Good answer Robert, I think that this is turning into a big racial battle, and it's unfair. I think that we should enforce the border, but lets make a path for people to legally migrate. I'd like to see how much is made in this country from the illegal immigrants who are working with invalid (not the stolen ones) social security numbers and not getting refunds, and the amount of social security that is paid in on those same numbers and never claimed. Those would be some interesting numbers... maybe the government knows a bit more about how much money is coming in than the general public... would that be too much to assume??
